New and Semi Lost Paintings Plus More...
The challenge of keeping track of paintings over the years.
So if you have been painting for any amount of time, it comes to a point where you have to use software to edit, document and manage work. Sometimes, the software goes out of business and you have to migrate to another. I have gone through several over the years, and I’ve rediscovered paintings I forgot about. Here are a few paintings that got missed and deserve a fresh look.
And on to the new paintings…. Are you excited as I am?
First the small studies, I’m still working on them, but had to stop until I could reconfigure my easel station to sit while I paint due to reoccurring plantar fasciitis.
I don’t have any clue of what I’m going to paint when I do these small imaginary painting studies. It leaves them opportunity to explore and imagine objects and forms from the initial brush strokes. It’s been a great way to Freeform paint and develop an intuitiveness. Pretty much doodling like I did in school during all my boring classes.
This gas station was from Bath County Plein Air in Monterey. The light awning was repainted and Shell Sign was strategically removed. There’s a stillness to the automated service station. This is sitting in my living stewing on if there is more to add or to leave it as it is.
Can you see the under painting that I posted from the last post? This was a fun painting session from the Norfolk Drawing Group session last month. I like the textures this left and gave a nice contrast to place the figure on.
Here are two large paintings measuring at 24”x36” oil on cradle board. “Late for the NARO” & “Evening Sunset Haze”. I just finished the varnishing and framing and they look awesome on the wall!
