Hi everyone! I hope you are all doing well and just excited about Spring Forward just 5 weeks away! I hate short days as it means less time for me to get outside. Speaking of the dreary winter, my neck of the woods has yet to get snow and time is closing out for the chance for it to happen. I’ve made a commitment to get out and paint if it should snow. So while I am waiting for longer days and the last chance to snow here are some of my latest paintings I’ve done.
Here’s the commission painting that I’ve been working on this winter. It all started with a trip to Tangier Island to shoot a unique buy boat called the Delvin K.
Here’s a photo of it to get an idea of size.
Another group of paintings are from my trips to San Francisco.
“5-O at the Nazareth”. This was from my recent YouTube LIVE Stream Events over the past three weeks. Oil on canvas 16x20.
I recorded the process LIVE and then made a time-lapse video, and of course a photo to illustrate scale to compare to the first painting. BTW, due to YouTube’s finicky settings, if you would like to get notified when I go live, please subscribe to my channel. It’s the best way to get the latest link in case I encounter any false starts.
This was followed up with another painting with the running title “Looking for a Midnight Ride”, oil on canvas 18x24. I may go back into this one but for now I’m going to let this one stew a bit.
And last but not least, I have an oil painting class that I will be teaching at my school in the evenings starting April 10th. It is part of a NTC Adult Education program that is giving 9 week courses at affordable prices to better serve the community. Part of that is providing students with a starter kit with the class.
Well friends, I wish you all well and I hope you like today’s visual offerings.
